Desautels Propels Through Financial Times Global MBA Rankings

Published: 31 January 2011

The MBA program at the Desautels Faculty of Management has jumped 38 spots to 57th place in the 2011 Global Financial Times MBA rankings. This represents the most significant increase of any school on the list.

The Desautels MBA is ranked #1 in Canada, Top 5 in North America and Top 15 in the world for job placement 3 months after graduation (93%). Desautels also ranks first among Canadian schools in international faculty and international mobility of graduates - which indicates whether alumni worked outside the country before starting their MBA, and where they work now.

This major move up the rankings reflects the significant investments made by the Desautels Faculty over the past several years to improve the quality of its MBA program. The Faculty transformed the curriculum, hired more professors, added more opportunities for interaction with business leaders, beefed-up career-counseling, and renovated its facilities.

Four other Canadian schools were in the top 100 (2011 rank: 2010 rank): University of Toronto: Rotman (46:45), University of Western Ontario: Ivey (46:49), York University: Schulich (49:54), University of British Columbia: Sauder (80:82).
