Published: 2 March 2015

A Desautels undergraduate student case team composed of Lara Ballantyne, Jaylen Gadhia, Rachel Kirby and Sami Zubair took 1st place at the 14th annual Copenhagen Business School Case Competition (CBS CC) held February 22 to 27, 2015.

Twelve top business schools from eleven countries and five continents were represented. The Desautels team made it to the finals by winning their group division composed of American University of Cairo, Rotterdam School of Management and Aalto University (Helsinki). In the finals, Desautels competed against Thammasat University (Bangkok) and Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania. The case was on The Danish Passenger Rail System and teams were tasked to develop a three-year strategic plan. This is the first time that a McGill team has won CBS CC.

The team had taken the "Case Analysis and Presentation" class taught by Professor Richard Donovan, who also served as their adviser and accompanied the team to Copenhagen. Professor Julia Scott also provided valuable input to the team throughout their preparation.

Congratulations to Lara, Jaylen, Rachel and Sami for their great performance!
