Advances in the Sciences of Endocrine Disruption and the Tiered Protocol for Endocrine Disruption (TiPED)
Are you a McGill professor, post-doctoral fellow or PhD student with an interest in endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs)? Dr. Pete Myers (CEO of Environmental Health Sciences and co-author of Our Stolen Future) and Dr. Karen Peabody O’Brien (Executive Director of Advancing Green Chemistry) will visit McGill to discuss advances in the sciences of endocrine disruption and present TiPED, a new tool for chemists to assess whether chemicals have the potential to be EDCs.
The MDIIM Health Initiative plans on hosting several workshops each academic term. These sessions will bring together healthcare providers, administrators and policy makers, as well as private companies and NGOs, to discuss the most significant challenges to positive health outcomes among citizens, including challenges faced by the healthcare system as a whole. Moreover, the Health Initiative plans on creating an Expert Panel in Global HealthCare Initiatives for mentorship opportunities.
The aim of the MDIIM's Health Initiative is to develop a framework to unify the relevant health activities within the Desautels Faculty of Management. While there are great strides being made in the field of health within the Faculty, there is a lack of integration among our areas. The goal is to provide an infrastructure that can serve as an integrative and unifying body of health-related projects.
