The MDIIM Health Initiative plans on hosting several workshops each academic term. These sessions will bring together healthcare providers, administrators and policy makers, as well as private companies and NGOs, to discuss the most significant challenges to positive health outcomes among citizens, including challenges faced by the healthcare system as a whole. Moreover, the Health Initiative plans on creating an Expert Panel in Global HealthCare Initiatives for mentorship opportunities.
There is a need for management training tailored to physician, nurse and healthcare managers. The MDIIM Health Initiative will offer intensive short management workshops tailored to the specific needs of acute care facilities, public health and community-based care organizations.
The aim of the MDIIM's Health Initiative is to develop a framework to unify the relevant health activities within the Desautels Faculty of Management. While there are great strides being made in the field of health within the Faculty, there is a lack of integration among our areas. The goal is to provide an infrastructure that can serve as an integrative and unifying body of health-related projects.
