FEI Canada: The 2015 "Aces of Finance" Competition is open!

How Far Down Do You Define Deviancy in Ferguson?

The late Daniel Patrick Moynihan’s celebrated phrase “defining deviancy down” first appeared in a 1993 essay in The American Scholar. “I proffer the thesis,” wrote Moynihan, “that, over the past generation…the amount of deviant behavior in American society has increased beyond the levels the community can ‘afford to recognize’ and that, accordingly, we have been re-defining deviancy so as to exempt much conduct previously stigmatized.”

Clothing retailer Simons to open new stores in Mississauga, B.C., Alberta

Mississauga will soon be home to the largest of five new Simons stores scheduled to open across Canada, marking only the second time the company has set up shop outside Quebec.

Local shoppers unfamiliar with Simons can expect a family feel across the chain, said Robert Mackalski, a brand expert and faculty lecturer at McGill University.
