For over 15 years, P[h]assion has successfully promoted HIV/AIDS awareness to McGill University students and the Montreal community. P[h]assion, a non-profit organization, has fundraised over $150,000 for various AIDS foundations. The organization holds numerous fundraising events throughout the year, including hype parties, a sample sale, and its mid-spring fashion show. The P[h]assion fashion show has impressed hundreds of spectators and sponsors, which make it one of the most anticipated events on McGill's social calendar!
BCom students Jean Vianney Cordeiro, David Gao and Shirley Xu Wang recently won the KPMG’s Ace the Case Local Competition. On March 2, Jean Vianney, David, Shirley Xu and their team will represent the KPMG Montreal office at the 2013 National Ace the Case competition, via video conference. The winners of the National Competition will go on to represent Canada at the International level in Madrid, Spain in April.
MONTREAL - The ad agency brief was clear: Get more people shopping at a Montreal bicycle store. The creative talent came cheap: 30 marketing students working free-of-charge for two weeks. And after an evening of pitches to a panel of judges and the selection of winners, the end game now approaches: A $10,000 publicity campaign to be launched in April.
The Desautels Business Conference on Sustainability takes place January 24-26. This year’s event Sustainability at all Scales will showcase speakers from diverse backgrounds who practice values-driven business in different contexts.
Desautels BCom students took three top 3 podiums at the 25th edition of the Jeux du Commerce, hosted by HEC Montreal from January 4 to 6, 2013.
Over 1,200 students from 13 Eastern-Canadian universities attended this inter-university competition. In addition to competitions that applied academic knowledge to real-life situations, there were opportunities to network with students from different universities, and connect with members of the business community. Sports and social competitions were also part of the event.
A Desautels BCom team composed of Jacqueline Crapper and Wenxi (Kathy) Kang placed 1st in the Human Resources case competition at the 35th annual Inter-Collegiate Business Competition (ICBC) hosted by Queen’s University from January 3 to 5, 2013.

In November, the International Management Association will be hosting an International Management speaker series/panel discussion followed by a networking cocktail. This networking event is a unique opportunity to connect IM alumni and relevant company representatives with current IM students.
The goal of the cocktail is to expose current IM students to future employment opportunities by offering a forum for IM alumni to share their experiences since graduating from McGill. This will be an opportunity to enhance the quality of networking between students and alumni.
