Desautels BCom students take three podiums at the 2013 Jeux du Commerce
Desautels BCom students took three top 3 podiums at the 25th edition of the Jeux du Commerce, hosted by HEC Montreal from January 4 to 6, 2013.
Over 1,200 students from 13 Eastern-Canadian universities attended this inter-university competition. In addition to competitions that applied academic knowledge to real-life situations, there were opportunities to network with students from different universities, and connect with members of the business community. Sports and social competitions were also part of the event.

Professor Nancy Adler honoured by the International Society of Diversity and Inclusion Professionals (ISDIP)
Professor Nancy Adler has been selected by the International Society of Diversity and Inclusion Professionals (ISDIP) as an honoree at the Legends of Diversity Dinner. The dinner will take place during the International Society of Diversity and Inclusion Professionals 2nd Annual Conference, August 6-9, 2013 in Montreal. The theme of the conference is “International Insights and Innovation.” Professor Adler will be honoured for her work’s impact on the diversity and inclusion movement across the globe.

Gary and Wendy Balter Scholarship in Management
Established in 2000 by Gary J. Balter, B.Com. 1979, DPA 1980 and Wendy Balter, B.Com. 1980, for an outstanding undergraduate student who has completed at least one year of a B.Com. program. Awarded on the basis of high academic standing by the Desautels Faculty of Management Scholarships Committee. Preference will be given to students majoring in Financial Accounting and who are residents of Montreal.
Estimated value: $2,000.
Desautels Professor Liette Lapointe publishes one of the Best Articles in Medical Informatics
Professor Liette Lapointe's article was selected by the Editorial Board of the 2012 IMIA Yearbook of Medical Informatics as one of the best articles from the literature in medical informatics published in the past year.
The article is entitled:
"The IT productivity paradox in health: a stakeholder's perspective." Int J Med Inform 2011 Feb;80(2):102-15.
