McGill's dynamic duo receive Top 8 Academic All-Canadian commendation from Governor General

Two student-athletes from McGill University were among the CIS Top Eight Academic All-Canadians honoured by His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada -- and former principal at McGill -- at Rideau Hall in the nation's capital, Monday. Mariam Sylla, a basketball player and pharmacology student, as well as Cedric McNicoll, a hockey player and accounting major in the Desautels faculty of management, were representing the Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec conference at the event.

Biography: 

Kevin Parent MBA, CPA, CGA is the First Year Coordinator of the Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting program. He joined McGill University's School of Continuing Studies in 2007 and then transferred to the Desaultels Faculty of Management in 2014. He teaches Management Accounting and External Auditing in the B Com programs and Issues in Professional Accounting in the Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting, an accredited program leading the students to the CPA designation. His passion and devotion towards the learning of individuals has led him to pursue a PhD in Education in relation to the pedagogical aspects of higher education. He has more than 20 years of teaching experience as well as over 15 years as a public accountant.
