A lifetime in academia

When Anita Nowak, GrDip 99, studied in the graduate diploma program of Concordia’s Department of Communication Studies, she says “a whole new world of cultural studies opened up to me.”

Upon graduation, she helped launch the Social Economy Initiative (SEI) at McGill’s Desautels Faculty of Management, serving as its integrating director for two years. The SEI was launched to integrate social entrepreneurship and social innovation into the faculty’s teaching, research and outreach.

Des nouvelles de l’UQAM

Ivanka Bilos est une étudiante en droit de l’Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM) de deuxième année et titulaire d’un baccalauréat en gestion de l’Université McGill. Elle a 33 ans.

Du 25 mars au 1er avril prochain, elle partira pour New York avec une vingtaine d’autres étudiants afin de représenter la Faculté de science politique et de droit de l’UQAM à la Simulation des Nations Unies

McGill launches Masters of Management in Finance - Students to run Desautels investment management firm

McGill University's Desautels Faculty of Management is launching a new twelve-month Masters of Management in Finance (MMF). The MMF program is designed to prepare students of any academic background for a variety of careers in finance such as investment banking, asset management, corporate finance, risk management, and financial consulting, among others. Old habits die hard, even with the advent of online dating

Women are still hesitant about making the first move when it comes to dating, according to a new study about online dating that shows old-fashioned dating patterns still persist in the digital age.

The study’s findings surprised the researchers, including Jui Ramaprasad from McGill University, but it also turned up a piece of valuable information for women using increasingly popular dating sites to find a partner: don’t bother paying extra for the anonymity feature because it only lowers your chance of finding a date.

Negative rates, deficits and defaults
