Geoff Molson: ‘You need to be humble, you need to allow other leaders to lead’

Geoff Molson, 45, is president and CEO of CH Group Limited Partnership, owner of the Montreal Canadiens, Bell Centre and Evenko, and chairman of the board of Molson Coors Brewing Co. 

My father taught me to never expect anything that others wouldn’t be able to expect as well. In Montreal, with the name Molson, you could very easily put yourself in a position where you would expect things in life. My father’s advice has served me well and has led me to work harder and achieve things, but also be humble and not be different from anyone else.

Une université montréalaise parmi les 50 meilleures au monde

Le Center of World University Rankings (CWUR) dévoilait récemment sa liste des meilleures universités à travers la planète. Un seul établissement québécois d’enseignement supérieur a fait le TOP 50 ! Lequel ?
C’est l’Université McGill qui remporte les honneurs sans grande surprise. Le prestigieux établissement qui à l’habitude de se retrouver dans ce genre de classement se retrouve au 42e rang mondial et au 2e rang national dans celui du CWUR. Eh oui, les voisins ontariens ont réussi à devancer McGill avec l’Université de Toronto qui se retrouve au 30e rang mondial.

Sebelum orang baru ini masuk, Moore yang bekerja sebagai manajer di kantor IBM di Toronto, Kanada, adalah bagian dari 'kelompok elite' yang sangat dekat dengan bos.

Tapi orang baru ini langsung menjadi bawahan favorit dan Moore langsung terlempar.

"Ibaratnya masuk ke kursi cadangan," ungkap Moore.

"Ini jelas bukan pengalaman yang mengenakkan," kata Moore yang sekarang adalah guru besar di Fakultas Manajemen di Universitas McGill.
