Teaching the business of sustainability

A team led by Steve Maguire, Director of the Marcel Desautels Institute for Integrated Management (MDIIM) , has been named winner of the 2014 Dr. Alfred N. and Lynn Manos Page Prize for Integration of Sustainability Issues in Business Curricula, for conceiving and implementing the new Managing for Sustainability Major and Concentration (MSUS) programs for Bachelor of Commerce students at McGill.

Desautels celebrates 50 years of MBA impact

After 2,000 votes, a trio of distinguished alumni took home the title of Top MBA Impact Maker at the MBA 50th Anniversary Gala Dinner on May 23: Seymour Schulich, MBA’65, entrepreneur, philanthropist and author; Bertrand Cesvet, MBA’88, Executive Chairman and Senior Partner, Sid Lee; and the 2013 Hult Prize team.

McGill Dobson Cup awards $100,000 to promising start-ups

After three months of mentorship and start-up plan pitches, the McGill Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurship rewarded over $100,000 in cash and other prizes to the winners of the 2015 McGill Dobson Cup Start-UP Competition.

In an era of information overload, getting the right information remains a challenge for time-pressed executives. Is it time to overhaul your personal knowledge infrastructure?
... We are not the first researchers to make this claim. More than 40 years ago, organizational theorist Henry Mintzberg suggested that information was central to managerial work and that the most important managerial roles revolved around information (monitoring, disseminating and acting as a spokesperson).
