McGill’s Desautels Faculty of Management has jumped 11 spots to claim a rank of 49th in the world in the 2014 UTD Top 100 Business School Research Rankings. This ranking by UT Dallas’ Naveen Jindal School of Management measures faculty research productivity over the past five years from 2008 to 2013. The 100 ranked schools produced 9,174 articles in the 24 leading journals during the most recent ranking period. That number has risen from 5,879 articles in the first period used in the rankings, from 2000 to 2004.

McGill University wishes to express its deepest condolences to the relatives and friends of the passengers of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, who included McGill graduate Muktesh Mukherjee (MBA'98), 42, and his wife Xiaomo Bai, 37.
Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak announced today that according to data analysis, the plane crashed into the Southern Indian Ocean, killing all 239 passengers. The plane, which was heading from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, disappeared on March 8.

Sean, Jaylen and Thanin will head to Paris to represent Canada at the international Brandstorm competition this summer.

Desautels BCom students Ethan Zhang, Jeremie Guay, Chris Lim, Yusu Zheng, Nikolas Sinnhuber and Sameer Rizvi, won 1st place in Quantitative Outcry at the 2014 Rotman International Trading Competition (RITC) held February 20 to 22. The RITC is an annual event hosted by the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. The competition utilizes simulated trading cases that closely mimic different aspects of real world markets and brings teams of students and faculty from universities worldwide to participate.
