Word-of-mouth leads to more diverse workforce says report

A study from the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University has found referring friends and associates for job vacancies can help to create a diverse workforce.

Word-of-mouth recruitment, the most common way to fill jobs, had previously been thought to cause segregation at work: women tend to reach out to other women in their networks, and men do likewise.

The Queensland Symphony Orchestra (QSO) has been kicking goals recently and much of the credit must go to visionary CEO Sophie Galaise who has been with the orchestra for the past two and a half years.

Galaise, who is French-Canadian, has just announced she is leaving us to become CEO of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. That sucks.

The McGill Centre for the Convergence of Health and Economics (MCCHE) is closely involved with the pulse community, and will shortly launch the global Pulse Innovation Platform (PIP), the convening body for pulse-based food innovation globally, serving as catalyst for a novel model of business engagement in bringing solution at scale to challenges at the nexus of farm, food and health systems.
