Dr. Marie-Claude Rousseau obtained a bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) in Biochemistry from Université du Québec à Montréal in 1991. Her graduate studies were conducted at McGill University, where she earned a M.Sc. (1998) and Ph.D. (2003) in Epidemiology & Biostatistics. After postdoctoral training in Environmental Epidemiology and Population Health at Université de Montréal, she joined INRS-Institut Armand-Frappier as an Assistant Professor in 2005. Dr. Rousseau is also an Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Dentistry – McGill University. Dr. Rousseau holds a CIHR New Investigator Salary Award. The Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) funds her research infrastructure, while the Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR) and the Fonds de la recherche en santé du Québec (FRSQ) support her research activities.

Research Interests

Molecular, infectious, lifestyle and environmental factors in relation to the occurrence of cancer, including oral cancer, and chronic diseases.

The role of immunity and inflammation in the etiology of chronic diseases, including periodontal diseases
