Christophe Bedos is a dentist with a PhD in public health. He is also an Associate Professor with the Faculty of Dentistry at McGill University and an Adjunct Professor with the Faculty of Medicine at the Université de Montréal. His research focuses mainly on access to care for the underprivileged. He seeks out answers to the following questions:

  • What place does oral health occupy in the lives of the underprivileged?
  • How do the living conditions of these individuals impact both their health and recourse to available services?
  • How do health professionals perceive the underprivileged and how do they interact with these individuals?

This research program, which is in keeping with Québec's strategy to combat poverty and social exclusion, emphasizes on knowledge translation, which is to say that it seeks to bring tangible public health solutions. Accordingly, Christophe Bedos has developed close partnerships with:

a) Community associations involved in poverty

b) Key professional dental organizations

c) Research groups on social inequality and access to care.
