When: September

Eligibility: Full-time students at McGill University who are available to study at Oxford University the year after applying.

Each year in early September, information sessions are offered to help students who wish to apply for the Rhodes Scholarships. These sessions are designed to provide details and answer questions pertaining to requirements, application procedures, and McGill's internal screening process.

Rhodes Scholars are elected for two years of study at the University of Oxford, with the possibility of renewal for a third year. All educational costs, such as matriculation, tuition, laboratory and certain other fees, are paid on the Scholar's behalf by the Rhodes Trustees. Each Scholar receives in addition a maintenance allowance adequate to meet necessary expenses for term-time and vacations. The Rhodes Trustees cover the necessary costs of travel to and from Oxford, and upon application, may approve additional grants for research purposes or study-related travel.

Candidates must apply through McGill's two-step internal screening process. The McGill process generally consists of two rounds of interviews, after which successful applicants will be given the access code to submit their application online.

Please note that the deadline for submitting applications to the Office of the Dean of Students for McGill's internal selection process will be in early September 2011. The exact date has yet to be determined.
