Kathryn joined the CRCF in May 2017 as a research assistant supporting the Alberta First Nations Health Consortium Jordan’s Principle Enhanced Service Coordination project. Kathryn has completed the Qualifying Year to the Masters of Social Work and will begin the joint Masters of Social Work/Bachelor of Civil Law/Bachelor of Laws program in September 2017. Kathryn has worked previously as a policy analyst for the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care in the eHealth Policy Branch and the Mental Health and Addictions Branch, where she coordinated stakeholder engagement activities, provided secretariat support to provincial advisory bodies, and developed cabinet policy submissions. Kathryn holds a Bachelor of Science from Queen’s University with a Major in Biology and a Minor in Health Sciences. While at Queen’s she also volunteered for a student run non-profit organization that provides peer health education to children living in First Nations and Inuit communities. Kathryn’s research interests include the impact of social policies on the health and social disparities experienced by First Nations communities.
