Irene joined the CRCF in 2011 as a research assistant for the Canadian Mental Health Commission project "Parenting for the Promotion of Adolescent Mental Health". She has a B.A. in Sociology and a Minor in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Kansas, and is currently pursuing a Masters of Social Work at McGill. Irene's areas of interest include migration, border issues, and the construction of identity, as well as the relationship between culture and sexuality. Her Masters study project will explore the impact of immigration status on lived experience and perceived identity.
