I’m a Master student of Psychology at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU) in Germany. Currently, I’m a research intern at the CRCF working with Dr. Heather MacIntosh, analysing reflective functioning in her current pilot study of Developmental Couple Therapy for Complex Trauma. During my master studies and my work in Dr. Behringer’s project on loss-related experience at the FAU, I absolved my training on rating reflective functioning, a measure of mentalization, on the Adult Attachment Interview at the Anna Freud Center, London. Since then my main research interest is on reflective functioning in context of difficult life experiences, especially trauma, examining the role of mentalization as a coping strategy. Working with Dr. MacIntosh, pushes my interest further on in how far and what kind of therapy can help develop supporting mentalization strategies, as well as finding ways to rate reflective functioning in therapy sessions.
