Kim Coleman is a research coordinator of the A.R.C Trauma Study. Also, the Tryna Rotholtz Creative Group Work Award & the Marianne Adams Child & Youth Grant have enabled Kim to collaborate with Batshaw Youth & Family Services to design an arts and evidence-based support group for sexually abused and exploited girls. Kim is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago and is a clinical social worker & creative arts therapist. Her academic areas of interest include: complex trauma, cultural studies, visual methodologies & mixed-method multimedia participatory research. Kim’s doctoral work is interdisciplinary and will focus on bridging image studies & trauma studies in an effort to promote healing while informing the cross-cultural adaptation of evidence-based practice and psychosocial intervention.
