Childhood Disability Journal Club

What: a monthly discussion group of childhood disability-oriented faculty, graduate students, and researchers from faculties/schools of social work at McGill University, University of Toronto, University of Calgary and McMaster University as well as clinicians from university affiliated health institutions. The group will meet on the last Thursday of each month to discuss, appraise and report on significant current research in the most important childhood disability journals. 

Who: graduate students, faculty, researchers and clinicians who are focused on childhood disability.

Purpose: to stay on top of the research in the field of childhood disability; to build analytical skills by critically analyzing substantive research; to identify key studies which stand out as being exceptional and to disseminate these outstanding studies to the broader research and clinical community.

When and where: meetings will be held the fourth Thursday of the month from noon to 1:30 pm at the Center for Research on Children and Families (CRCF) in Montreal as well as in other locations, who will connect by videoconferencing.

What is required of members: Regular attendance at monthly meetings and participation in discussions by reviewing 2 to 3 articles per month and presenting the one article that stands out as being the most salient.
