Current Workshops

Although some people may find the idea of groups and workshops Group Counselling and Wellness Activities Winter 2013
intimidating, they can offer valuable experiences. By sharing with
others things we have in common, we counter feelings of isolation
and share skills and resources for coping. Groups offer a mirror
through which we can better understand our actions and feelings
by seeing them reflected in others. We benefit by understanding
and having compassion for others facing similar obstacles to
ourselves, and we can learn, share, and try out new ideas together. 
There are different types of groups open to you through our service.
These groups are strictly confidential and range in focus from
academic difficulties to life-skills. Also, the type of group ranges
from time-limited workshops, which are more skills based, to
ongoing weekly or biweekly support groups, which are more
focused on adapting to life’s challenges.
We hope you will find a group or workshop that suits your needs.
The workshops are free of charge to McGill students.
