To make a counselling appointment, you first have an “intake” appointment. Intake operates on a first-come, first-served basis, starting at 11:30am during the academic year. You meet briefly (20-30 minutes) with an intake counsellor to collaboratively discuss how we can best assist you.
The following options may be offered to you:
- attendance to one of the Counselling Services' many workshops or group therapy sessions,
- referral to other Student Services or outside the University may be made if your concerns require specialized assistance.
- a letter of support,
- scheduling individual or couple counselling appointments with one of our counsellors.
If you feel you are in an urgent situation in which you require help without delay, please refer to our Crisis Services on how to proceed.
Note: THERE ARE NO INTAKE HOURS IN JUNE, JULY AND AUGUST - STUDENTS MUST CALL TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT.
During our busiest months (particularly November and March) there may be a wait period between the intake session and the first scheduled counselling appointment.

* All inquiries and discussions are treated confidentially.
