What is Crisis Drop-In?
Crisis Drop-In is a same-day, drop-in service put in place to ensure that students experiencing a crisis - that is, a situation for which they require immediate assistance - get the help they need without delay.
To take advantage of this service, please present yourself at the front desk of Counselling Service and advise the receptionist that you are experiencing a crisis. You can do this without an appointment, Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. You will be seen by the on-call counsellor or psychologist at the first available opportunity.
Requests for notes or letters related to late papers or deferral of examinations are not considered crises and are therefore not processed through the crisis drop-in service. Please see Our Services for more information regarding requesting notes or letters.
Urgent care services are also available via the McGill Mental Health Service.
For emergencies/crises outside of drop-in hours please see our page on After-hours support.
