What is Crisis Drop-In?

Crisis Drop-In is a service that you can use if you are experiencing a crisis; that is, a situation in which you require help without delay.

If you are experiencing a crisis, please present yourself at the front desk of Counselling Service (Brown Student Services Building, 3600 McTavish, East Wing, Suite 4200). You can do this without an appointment, Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Please advise the receptionist that you are experiencing a crisis and you will be seen by the on-call counsellor or psychologist at the first available opportunity.

Emergency services are also available at the McGill Mental Health Service (Brown Student Services Building, 3600 McTavish, West Wing, Suite 5500), Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 3:30.

Please note that requests for notes or letters related to late papers or deferral of examinations are not considered crises and are therefore not processed through the crisis drop-in service. Please see Making an Appointment for more information regarding requesting notes or letters.

What do I do if I'm experiencing a crisis after 4pm or on the weekend?
