Members

MCLL members come from many different backgrounds and experiences. Check out WHO WE ARE!

Membership Information

Full members are those who register for at least one study group during the term. The MCLL full membership fee is $105 per term. This entitles you to register for one or two 10-week study groups. Additional study groups can be added during the first week of term where space is available. Members who register only for one 5-week study group, pay a reduced membership fee of $75. Members may also register for lectures, workshops, and outings at a charge of $8 each and may attend MCLL social events.

Associate membership is available for $20 per term. Associate members may register for lectures, workshops and outings at a charge of $8 each, as well as attend social events.

Summer membership:
Those who have been full or associate members at any time in the past academic year (fall, winter and spring terms), are considered members for the summer term and may register for lectures, workshops and outings at a charge of $8 each. Non-members may become associate members for a fee of $20.

See the current Program for further information on membership fees.

Member Privileges

MCLL occupies a suite of well-equipped seminar rooms, a common room for relaxing and chatting with other members, an office and a small kitchen. Full membership provides access to the McGill Library, with the same borrowing privileges and Internet services as all McGill students.

Member Opportunities

  • Moderators and lecturers
Members are encouraged to share their interests, knowledge and curiosity with others by moderating a study group or giving a lecture. The Curriculum Committee provides support and training.
  • Committee membership
MCLL is self-administered by an elected Council working in liaison with the McGill School of Continuing Studies. Members are encouraged to contribute their talents to the various committees.
  • Volunteers
Members can provide support by volunteering in the office or helping with other administrative tasks.

The Member Handbook provides further information about membership opportunities.
