TEFaQ (Test d'évaluation du français adapté au Québec)

TEST

The TEFaQ is a French language proficiency test recognized by the Ministère de l'Immigration et des Communautés culturelles du Québec as a measure of proficiency for its CSQ immigration selection process.

The test is offered by McGill University on behalf of the CCIP (Chambre de commerce et d’industrie de Paris).  For more detailed information on this test, please click here.

The test contains four sections:
- Oral Comprehension (60 questions, 360 points – 40 minutes)
- Oral Expression (450 points – 15 minutes)
- Written Comprehension (60 minutes)
- Written Expression (60 minutes)

You may register for one (1), two (2), three (3) or all four (4) of the evaluations.
Please note that the Centre is not authorized to provide information regarding the number of evaluations you must complete, as these requirements vary between candidates.
 
It is your responsibility to select all evaluations that you require. The price will be adjusted accordingly.
 
ON THE DAY OF THE TEST, YOU MAY NOT PARTICIPATE IN ANY EXTRA EVALUATIONS OTHER THAN THE ONE(S) YOU ORIGINALLY REGISTERED FOR. NO EXCEPTIONS, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, WILL BE MADE.
 
Expect a wait period between each scheduled evaluation.

Candidates must arrive 30 minutes before the test starts.

CANDIDATES WITHOUT A VALID PASSPORT ARE NOT PERMITTED TO REGISTER.


TEST FEES

The following fees are associated with each component of the test. The fees will vary according to each candidate’s selection.

Oral Comprehension: $125.00
Oral Expression: $125.00
Written Comprehension: $50.00
Written Expression: $50.00

Please note that all fees are non-refundable. 

Please note that the chosen date is fixed and final. No changes will be permitted.


CONDITIONS

All candidates must present themselves on the date of the test with the following documents:

  • Their registration form
  • Their confirmation of enrollment (sent by e-mail one week prior to the test date)
  • A VALID PASSPORT (required) and a second piece of photo ID (valid driver’s license, Medicare card). Student ID cards will not be accepted.
  • Two photographs format (35 mm x 45 mm)
Please note that candidates without these documents will automatically be refused access to the test. No candidate will be admitted without all of the above documents, and the $250 fees will NOT be reimbursed, given that it is the candidate’s responsibility to have all the required documents before arriving on site. No exceptions will be made.
