TEFaQ (Test d'évaluation du français adapté au Québec)
The TEFaQ is a French language proficiency test recognized by the Ministère de l'Immigration et des Communautés culturelles du Québec as a measure of proficiency for its CSQ immigration selection process.
The test is offered by McGill University on behalf of the CCIP (Chambre de commerce et d’industrie de Paris). For more detailed information on this test, please click here.
The test contains two sections:
- Oral Comprehension (60 questions, 360 points – 40 minutes)
- Oral Expression (450 points – 15 minutes)

Candidates must arrive 30 minutes before the test starts.
The fee for this test is $250.
Please note that this fee is non-refundable.
Please note that the chosen date is fixed and final. No changes will be permitted.
All candidates must present themselves on the date of the test with the following documents:
- Their registration form
- Their confirmation of enrollment (sent by e-mail 2 weeks prior to the test date)
- A VALID PASSPORT (required) and a second piece of photo ID (valid driver’s license, Medicare card). Student ID cards will not be accepted.
- Two photographs format (35 mm x 45 mm)
|Please note that candidates without these documents will automatically be refused access to the test. No candidate will be admitted without all of the above documents, and the $250 fee will NOT be reimbursed, given that it is the candidate’s responsibility to have all the required documents before arriving on site. No exceptions will be made.|
