The Certificate of Proficiency in French – Language and Culture program offers you the teaching and learning support you need to reach your goals of studying, working and living in French. This full-time intensive program has provided thousands of students from over 60 countries with an exceptional educational experience that features frequent contact with native speakers and the francophone community.  

Students interested in the program can be confident that the McGill Certificate of Proficiency in French – Language and Culture:

  • indicates an advanced level of fluency in French and an in-depth understanding of culture in the French-speaking world
  • confirms that the student is able to use French effectively in various situations including academic and professional settings
  • is in line with the international benchmarks such as the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL), the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB).

Please note: The Intensive Certificate of Proficiency program is a non-credit program and courses are non-credit courses.
