Brazing Aerospace Materials (Al, Ti, Superalloys)

This course is based on the AWS B2.2 /B2.2M:2010  standard or “Specification for brazing procedure and performance qualification” and BS EN 4632 standard or “Aerospace series, welded and brazed assemblies for aerospace constructions, weldability and brazeability of materials”. It is mainly focused on brazing aerospace materials such as aluminum, titanium and superalloys.

Objectives

  •  To understand the principles of brazing mechanism
  • To appreciate how process parameters and other factors influence braze quality
  • To apply knowledge to brazing similar and dissimilar joints
  • To be familiar with process related defects and how to avoid them
  • Providing the opportunity to discuss aerospace applications or problems with TWI experts

Topics Covered

Principles of the brazing process, bonding mechanism and wetting, requirements for brazing, surface treatments, types of heating system, quality control, common  defects, safety and standards, applications in aerospace industry.


Who Should Attend

Scientists, engineers, designers and manufacturing personnel currently using or planning to use brazing alloys especially in aerospace industry.


Cancellation Policy

All cancellation & substitution requests must be made in writing. The following Cancellation Policy applies:

Up to 14 days prior to the start date: Full refund
7 days prior to the start date: Refund minus $100 Cancellation fee
Within 7 days of the start date: No Refund, however suitable participation substitution will be permitted

If no notice is given prior to the start of the event(s) and you fail to attend, you will be liable for the full course fee.

McGill SCS reserves the right to cancel an event up to 5 days prior to its start.
