Growing attention to the social impact of business has made the importance of legal and ethical analysis in business decision-making central. This course focuses on the following key areas: the ethical decision-making process in the business context; and the ethical responsibilities of a management consultant in both private and public organizations in accordance with the CMC’s Code of Professional Conduct.

This course deals with the ethical decision-making process in the business context. It helps students understand various ethical systems and norms of behaviour and to draw conclusions as to the right, proper, and just decisions and actions in the face of moral dilemmas. It also covers the legal and ethical liabilities and responsibilities of a management consultant in both private and public organizations in accordance with the CMC’s Code of Professional Conduct. Through readings, case studies and discussions, the course explains how to avoid and resolve the ethical dilemmas often faced by a management consultant.
