Biography

Kamal S. Salmasi is the Area Coordinator for Management, International Business and Entrepreneurship programs at the School of Continuing Studies of McGill University.

He has nearly 20 years of business experience, and more than 18 years of experience teaching and reseraching in management and mining. He has served as the CEO of a cement company, the VP of a mineral export company, and the chairman of a management consulting firm. He was also advisor to Iran’s Ministry of Industries and Mines, and contributed in drafting the country’s new mining code and foreign investment law.

Dr. Salmasi has two honours degrees and received several honours and awards, including the J. B. Harrington Study grant, the James Douglas Research Fellowship, a Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) grant, and the Outstanding Provincial Industrial Manager award. He is a published author, an award-winning manager, and a member of several professional societies, including IFSAM (International Federation of Scholarly Association of Management), MEMS (Mineral Economics and Management Society), AIB (Academy of International Business), CIM (Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum), and PDAC (Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada).
