Biography

Dr. John Saba has variously been a professor, scholar, businessperson, part-time judge and conference manager. He holds five degrees from McGill University including bachelor and master degrees in economics and political science; bachelor, master and doctor of civil laws degrees; and a diploma in air and space law. He has also studied at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris.

At McGill, he is a Lecturer in Economics, International Business, International Trade and courses in McGill’s Integrated Aviation Management Programme. Moreover, for many years he has been Adjunct Professor of Law at the Institute of Air & Space Law, Secretary-General of the Institute of Air & Space Law Association and the editor-in-chief of its newsletter. He also has lectured in Economics in the MBA Finance programme at the John Molson School of Business, Concordia University.

Dr. Saba’s business experience includes being a President & co-founder of companies in information technology (Internet/E-commerce subsidiary of a NASDAQ traded corporation) and satellite communications.

Dr. Saba has served as manager and/or chairman of a dozen worldwide aviation conferences and symposia for the International Civil Aviation Organization, the American Bar Association [ABA] and/or McGill University. He is currently an Assistant Editor to the ABA’s Air and Space Lawyer. From 2005 to 2009 he was a member [judge] of the Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada.
