Biography

Donald McKnight is a lecturer in the Supply Chain Management and Logistics certificate program, teaching Transportation Management and Economics. He is considered a specialist in the transportation industry, with over 40 years of work experience, including 23 years with KPMG, where he rose to a principal in KPMG’s National Transportation Practice. Since 2000 he has been President of DAMF Consultants Inc., specializing in transportation and logistics management. He previously worked for Canadian Pacific Railway.

Mr. McKnight has directed or participated in numerous transportation-related projects. He has provided consulting services to users and providers of transportation services and infrastructure in both the private and public sectors. He has worked with all modes of transport and gained in-depth knowledge of trucking, rail and marine modes of transportation. 

Mr. McKnight’s areas of specialization include strategic planning, market development, transportation costing, economics and finance, logistics, benchmarking and industry reviews, management and operational reviews, feasibility and privitization studies, and transportation regulation and policy. He has worked and provided consulting services in both official languages.

A Certified Management Consultant (CMC), he is a Fellow (FCILT) of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in North America and a member of the Canadian Transportation Research Forum.
