Enhancing Educational Technologies

Funding for Enhancement of Educational Technologies

In a world of changing technology, the School of Continuing Studies must be at the forefront and provide students with up-to-date learning tools to prepare them with the skills to keep up in today’s technological workplace. Current projects include creating multimedia classrooms, language labs, and leading-edge computer labs.

We are also improving accessibility of our programs through online delivery, hybrid courses, and other distributed learning approaches. These initiatives will provide a lifeline for students who cannot physically attend class, such as parents at home with young children, executive students away on business, or people with disabilities.

Donors in the Spotlight

Spotlight on… Miranda Technologies

Miranda Technologies funded a video/web conferencing facility that accommodates up to 10 on-site participants and several online guests for one-to-one discussions or for multiple users. This facility enables instructors at McGill’s School of Continuing Studies, many of them practising professionals in their field (accounting, human resources, public relations, IT, entrepreneurship, translation, etc.) to interact more efficiently. The web-conferencing facility fosters collaboration among instructors and graduate students in different locations.
