The French Intensive Program: 1 semester = 2 levels

McGill University’s Intensive French Program - Language and Culture (IFLC) has an international reputation for excellence and provides innovative course content that meets the needs and expectations of our students.

Program Description

The Intensive French Program (Certificate of Proficiency in French – Language and Culture) is made up of five levels:

Basic French (203)
Elementary French (323)
Intermediate 1 (333)
Intermediate 2 (343)
Advanced (423)

Students who successfully complete Intermediate 2 and the Advanced level qualify for the McGill Certificate of Proficiency in French - Language and Culture.

The Department also offers, based on student needs, two complementary courses, Low Elementary (223) and Intermediate High (355)

Each course is six weeks long but takes place within a longer academic semester of thirteen weeks (fall, winter and summer), so you can do two levels in one semester with a week break between!

Have questions? Do you need to perfect your French for your studies or your work? Our program responds to your needs! Don’t wait! Attend one of our many information sessions. We will present our program and answer any questions you or your group may have.
