Are you planning to register for a course? Speak to a program advisor for help with choosing the right course for you.

General information regarding Courses and Programs available at the School of Continuing Studies can be obtained by visiting our website, at www.mcgill.ca/conted. If, after reviewing the information you need further clarification, we invite you to contact our Client Services Team at 514-398-6200 (during regular business hours) or send an e-mail to info [dot] conted [at] mcgill [dot] ca and we will be happy to respond to your questions and help you determine if an appointment with a Program Advisor is recommended prior to your registration.

Our Program Advisors at the School can offer you assistance in a number of areas. Listed below are some common reasons why learners seek guidance prior to registering. An Advisor can:

  • Provide you with general guidance related to your field of interest;
  • Offer guidance on choosing a program, course selection, credit and exemption policies; prerequisite and co-requisite requirements, planning your credit load, and upcoming deadlines;
  • Help you manage your academic situation during periods of personal, financial, or medical difficulty;
  • Guide your course selections to make sure you meet the requirements of your program; Serve as your direct link to other University resources;
  • Evaluate your requests for approval for inter-university transfer credits;
  • Offer support and referrals in cases of academic or personal difficulty.

If you have an International Degree(s) and wish to register for Graduate Level courses, and require guidance on Course or Program selection, it is recommended that you meet with a Program Advisor as soon as possible for the Registration period. Please call the Client Services Team at 514-398-6200 to set up an appointment. Note: If you are considered an international student and are interested in applying in one or more of our Programs, you should apply for admission to your program(s) of interest at least six months prior to the program start date to allow ample time to apply for a valid Certificate of Acceptance of Quebec (CAQ) and a Study Permit. Kindly note that an international student may only register for courses upon provision of a valid CAQ and Study Permit.

We also welcome Walk-ins during regular business hours. All of the above services are available, however, please note that a pre-scheduled appointment is preferable so we can better address your queries and prioritize your appointment over Walk-ins.

Whether you are a current, potential or newly-admitted learner who wishes to take the opportunity to meet with a Program Advisor, you are encouraged to call us to schedule an appointment as early as possible prior to the peak registration periods. Learners are recommended to contact Client Services well ahead of admission deadlines and registration peak periods for assistance, as Program Advisors have a high influx of learners during those periods and wait times are longer. Securing an appointment early, facilitates your registration and admission process and helps you avoid long line-ups.
