New Students to the McGill Conservatory will need to visit one of the Conservatory's offices to have a file opened in his/her name. Please bring the following:
- ID with the student's full name
- A deposit (non-refundable)
Private Lessons
(all instruments, including voice)
New students (and/or their parents) should visit the Conservatory Office to complete Personal Data Form and Teacher Assignment form. At the time of this visit the student will be asked to pay a non-refundable deposit fee to open a file in his/her name and initiate the teacher assignment process. The appropriate Area Coordinator then will assign a teacher who will contact the student to determine the lesson schedule.
Very Little and Little Musicians
To register your child: download, complete and send via "fax" (514-398-4293) the following forms: Personal Data Form and Credit Card Authorization Form specify time preference and location (Downtown or West-Island) or come in person to the Conservatory Office.
Theory and Ear Training
A placement test is mandatory for all new students. The payment of a non-refundable deposit fee is required to take this placement test. Please call the Conservatory Office to register for the placement test and arrange to pay the deposit.

Ensembles
(Choirs, Orchestras, Chamber music and Jazz)
See each respective course description for audition requirements. The payment of a non-refundable deposit fee is required to sit an audition. Please call the Conservatory Office to register for the audition and arrange to pay the deposit.
