Instrumental Group Courses

Guitar Class

Learn in a motivating environment the basics of guitar technique: open position, barre and jazz chords, basic chord progressions, basic strumming patterns, and notes on the fret board.

Styles: classical, jazz, acoustic finger style and pop
Theory Approach: scales, chord formulas, harmony; workshop
Workshop: guitar types and amplification, pick-ups, sound processors, etc.

YOUTH (13 to 18 years)

1 hr. /week, 10 weeks per term

ADULTS (18 years +)

1 hr. /week, 10 weeks per term

Admission into the Guitar Class is by audition only. The payment of a non-refundable deposit fee is required to sit an audition. Please call the Conservatory Office to register for the audition and arrange to pay the deposit fee.

Keyboard Class

Introductory group keyboard instruction can provide a strong foundation for future private study. In a supportive friendly environment, students learn the basics of music reading, rhythm and keyboard technique.

CHILDREN (7 to 12 years)

1 hr. /week, 10 weeks per term

YOUTH (13 to 18 years)

1 hr. /week, 10 weeks per term

ADULTS (18 years +)

1 hr. /week, 10 weeks per term


Voice Class (for teens and adults)

1 hr/week, 10 weeks per term. No prior vocal experience is required.

Classes (3 to 6 students) are divided as follows:
Teens 13 to 18 years
Adults 19 to 25 years
Adults 26 years and over

Did you always want to find out whether or not you have a singing voice?

This course is designed for you! Through basic vocal warm-up exercises, breath management, diction, and attention to posture and vocal health, you will be guided to sing selected vocal repertoire from various musical styles. The class will also teach you basics of music reading.

The teen classes will concentrate on folk and Broadway songs.
