1:30 hrs/week, September to May, Tuesdays, 16:30 to 18:00
For boys age 8 to 12
Director: Scott Gabriel
Under the direction of Scott Gabriel, the McGill Conservatory Boys' Choir provides young male singers a fun and supportive context in which to explore the finest choral repertoire throughout the ages, from early music to contemporary sacred and secular, jazz, gospel, and R&B styles. Solos, duets, and ensemble singing provide a unique opportunity to develop and refine performance skills while fostering courage, awareness, teamwork, and leadership.
Membership in the Boys' Choir is open to boys aged 8 to 12. Previous musical experience is not required, but potential choristers must be sufficiently mature to participate in a highly-structured, collaborative activity for 1h30. The ability to read well (text, not music) is essential. Visitors (e.g. family or friends) are warmly welcome at rehearsals, which take place at McGill University's Macdonald Campus, Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue on Tuesday evenings.
