The growth in the specialty of Colon and Rectal Surgery is seeing an increasing demand for training of surgeons. McGill University is one of five Royal College accredited colorectal surgery training programs across Canada. At McGill, there is a large volume and variety of patients with a wide referral base that covers the entire breadth of advanced colon and rectal surgery. There is considerable exposure to all aspects of Colon and Rectal Surgery, including benign and malignant disease, reoperative surgery and minimal access surgery (laparoscopy, TEM, TaTME). The complexity and abundance of these colorectal procedures provide a rich learning opportunity for a Colorectal Fellow.
