Joint Honours in Classics

JOINT HONORS – CLASSICS COMPONENT (36 credits)

Complementary Courses 36 credits

  • 36 credits taken from the list of courses within the five thematic areas, available on the Classical Studies Web site
  • 24 credits minimum in Classical Languages
  • 3 credits minimum of ancient Languages must be at the 400-level or higher
  • 6 credits minimum in each of two of the following areas:
    • Classical Literature
    • Ancient History
    • Philosophy and Religion
    • Modern Greek
  • 15 credits maximum 200-level

Note: The same course may not count toward more than one thematic area requirement.

According to Faculty regulations, Joint Honors students must maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.00 and maintain a minimum program GPA of 3.00.

Additional note: A student who has completed 12 credits of introductory (200-level) courses in both ancient Greek and Latin may, with the permission of the Classics undergraduate program advisor, be allowed to count up to 18 credits of 200-level courses toward a major or joint honors program in Classics.
