The McGill Civil Engineering Graduate Students Society (CEGSS) is a non-profit organization in association with the Department of Civil Engineering and Applied Mechanics. Our purpose is to organize activities for and promote a sense of community among the graduate students in Civil Engineering. All students become members of the CEGSS upon registration in the Department.
The Society welcomes suggestions for upcoming events and other ways to make the study year more fun and productive. Those who are interested in becoming a graduate student or who are new to the Faculty are also highly encouraged to get in contact with a member of the Council (see below) for information on student life in the Department and to take part in those activities that we offer.
Events that have been organized in the past include ski trips, barbecues, banquets and Wine and Cheese. Every year, the CEGSS is also responsible for organizing a graduate conference in which students do presentations to the Department and to their peers about the ongoing progress of their various projects.
