Manager & Technology Specialist

Administrator, Robotics Coordinator

Guillaume Lesage, PhD.

Guillaume Lesage graduated as an engineer from the Biochemical and Food Engineering Department of the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées (INSA) at Toulouse, France. He then obtained his PhD. in Biochemistry at the University of Montréal, in the lab of Dr. Guy Boileau, working on proteins maturation in the yeast secretory pathway. He then joined the group of Dr. Howard Bussey at McGill University, as a post-doctoral fellow and later as a research associate, where he led the yeast functional genomics team. He supervised automated large-scale screens for synthetic genetic interactions and chemogenomics screens. He joined the CIAN at its inception in late 2005. Since then, he oversees all CIAN operations and is the Robot/Automation platform specialist. He sits on the board of directors of the Canadian Cytometry and Microscopy Association.

Elke Küster-Schöck, Dr.rer.nat.

Elke Küster-Schöck received her doctoral degree in the group of Dr. Wolfgang Hillen at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany. Her research focused on the molecular mechanisms of transcriptional regulation in bacteria. Early on, she got involved with introducing new technologies in the lab, and making them accessible to the local user group. Her postdoctoral studies in the lab of Dr. Alan Grossman, MIT, Cambridge, MA, USA, on chromosome segregation in bacteria continued along those lines. As a result, she became a research scientist in the same lab, taking care of a small platform for spotted microarrays. After a short research postdoc with Dr. Jackie Vogel at McGill, she joined the CIAN team at its inception in late 2005. Elke has been an active member of the Association for Biomolecular Resource Facilities (ABRF) since 2009, serving on several committees.
