Research Interests

X-ray crystallographic studies of proteins, particularly enzymes that can be exploited as targets for drug development. Research efforts have concentrated on structure determination of enzymes that can be exploited as targets for antibiotics and antimycotics, and bacterial enzymes responsible for antibiotic resistance. Furthermore, efforts are ongoing to exploit the three-dimensional structural information obtained for the structure-based design of novel antimicrobial agents, using computational methods.
