McGill’s Steven Bielby, a 19-year-old electrical engineering freshman from Pointe Claire, Que., won three gold medals and three silvers to capture both, conference rookie-of-the-year and athlete-of-the-year honours at the Quebec university swim championships hosted by McGill over the weekend.
Team captain Danielle Hetherington, a backstroke and individual medley specialist from Richmond Hill, Ont., won two silver medals and a pair of bronzes as the McGill Martlets finished second of five teams at the third Quebec Cup swim meet of the season on Saturday in Trois-Rivières.
