On Sunday, May 19, between 9:00 and 9:10 am there will be a scheduled maintenance for the University's federated authentication system, which is used to log users into myCourses, Involved@McGill and other systems. Logins may be affected for approximately 1 minute during this 10-minute maintenance window. If you are having problems logging into myCourses during this time you can still access myCourses via the myMcGill portal.

PACE: The Art of Writing in the Islamic World

Calligraphy is arguably the most venerated form of Islamic art. Over the course of this session, participants will be introduced to the traditional means of transmission, the history of the book in the Arabic and Islamic culture, and the intricacies of the Arabic script. Participants will also have the opportunity for a tour of the rare Islamic manuscripts on display in the McLennan and to interact with other manuscripts, lithographs and early printed books in the McGill Islamic Studies Library’s Octagon room.
