Six McGill teams find themselves ranked among the CIS Top 10 this week, led by the men's and women's hockey teams who are both ranked No.2. The cross-country Martlets are No.6, the volleyball Martlets are seventh and both soccer squads are No. 10.

Raymond enjoying wild ride

Martin Raymond, a 44-year-old Pierrefonds native, is in his second season in the National Hockey League as an assistant coach with the Tampa Bay Lightning, working again alongside head coach Guy Boucher, who had been the head coach in Hamilton.

Six inducted Thursday at McGill Sports Hall of Fame luncheon

Martin Raymond, an assistant coach with the National Hockey League's Tampa Bay Lightning, headlined a cast of six inductees enshrined Thursday into the McGill Sports Hall of Fame, bringing the list of honoured members to 107 since the pantheon opened in 1996. The induction luncheon kicked off the University's Homecoming Week celebrations.

Mighty Max gets "shorty" as Redmen tame 'Wolves in Big Thunder

Maxime Langelier-Parent of Lery, Que., scored a shorthanded goal midway through the third period to give McGill a 3-2 victory over the Lakehead University Thunderwolves before 2,317 at Fort William Gardens, Saturday. It was the second "shorty" in as many nights for the 6-foot-2, 225-pound forward who also tallied while McGill was two-men short in Friday's 4-3 come-from-behind win over Lakehead.

Rookie scores in the "Nic" of time as Redmen rally to win 136th season opener

Defenceman Nicolas Therrien, a freshman from Chateauguay, Que., scored what proved to be the game-winner with less than six minutes remaining as visiting McGill rallied from a two-goal deficit and came away with a 4-3 victory over the Lakehead University Thunderwolves in men's hockey before a packed house at Fort William Gardens, Friday.
