With the support of generous alumni and friends of McGill, he has launched two endowed funds dedicated to BCom students: The Professor Gregory Vit Entrance and In-Course Bursaries.

Montreal, Quebec, July 18, 2017 - The John Dobson Foundation has announced a donation of $2 million – its largest gift to McGill yet – to fund the McGill X-1 Accelerator program run by the McGill Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurship. The gift will support the X-1 program, now in its third year, as it grows to support and promote entrepreneurship across McGill.

Andrea Courey (BCom’82) was newly divorced, with three kids to feed and no money in the bank when she started Grandma Emily’s Granola. She credits her BCom education with giving her the tools she needed to get through the early days of her business, but notes that real-world experience is a very different thing than classroom knowledge.

McGill Desautels Professor Gregory Vit's book: The Risk in Risk Management: Financial Organizations and the Problem of Conformity was reviewed in the March 2015 Issue of Organization Studies. The Management Undergraduate Society (MUS) has awarded the 2013 Professor of the Year Award to Professor Gregory Vit. This annual award recognizes a professor's meaningful involvement with the student body, eagerness to have an impact on students lives outside the classroom, and great insight on theoretical and academic matters. It is the highest honour given by the undergraduate student body at the Desautels Faculty of Management.
