McGill, as a member of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), is looking to appoint a SDG Campus Coordinator for the 2019-2020 academic year. The coordinator’s role will be to raise student awareness of the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs), mobilise students/student clubs around the SDGs and act as a point of contact between McGill student body and the SDSN Youth. This will be primarily achieved through setting up a SDG Hub on campus, which will be managed by the SDG coordinator.

The McGill Office of Sustainability and the Department of Buildings and Grounds is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the role of Zero-waste Coordinator. 

McGill’s Waste Reduction and Diversion Task Force was established to identify opportunities to optimize McGill’s waste management system. This Task-Force has recently completed the new 2018-2025 Waste Reduction & Diversion Plan, and is seeking to hire a Zero-Waste Coordinator to implement this Plan. This individual will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of Plan implementation.

On March 17-18, 2016, Yalmaz Siddiqui, BCom '92 and Senior Director of Sustainability for Office Depot Inc. visited his alma mater to impart his knowledge and lessons learned through leading global sustainability efforts. Mr. Siddiqui spoke in several Desautels classes, providing insight on understanding the B2B Green Marketing and Purchasing Landscape to strategies for stakeholder engagement and community consultation when introducing sustainability into operations.
