Dorion and Bettez named McGill athletes of the year at awards gala

Hockey players Marc-Andre Dorion of St. Hubert, Que., and Ann-Sophie Bettez of Sept-Iles, Que., were named male and female athletes of the year, respectively, at the 35th annual McGill intercollegiate sports awards gala held at the Love Competition Hall, inside the Currie Gym, Wednesday evening.

Redmen sniper signs AHL contract with Hershey Bears

Francis Verreault-Paul of the McGill University men's hockey team has become the second member of the recently-crowned CIS national champions to sign a pact with an American Hockey League club this week. The 24-year-old forward inked an amateur try-out contract (ATO) with the Hershey Bears, the top affiliate of the NHL's Washington Capitals.

Redmen ruggers rock, capture Covo Cup in Cambridge

Gideon Balloch scored a game-high 16 points as the visiting McGill Redmen rugby team rallied from an early 13-point deficit to defeat Harvard 41-30 and capture the Covo Cup at Cumnock Field on the campus of Harvard University, Saturday.

Redmen duo merit all-star status in RSEQ indoor soccer league

Two members of the McGill men's soccer team have earned all-star status in the RSEQ men's indoor soccer league. Defender Alexis Pradié, a native of Marseille, France was named to the first team, while William Hoyle, a midfielder from Ottawa, made the second squad.

McGill's Mighty Max signs pro pact with AHL team in Norfolk

Maxime Langelier-Parent, a 24-year-old forward with the McGill University men's hockey team, has signed a one-year contract, plus an option year, with the American Hockey League's Norfolk Admirals, the top farm team of the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning.

A half-dozen Martlets earn all-conference honours in indoor soccer

Six members of the McGill women's soccer team have merited all-star honours in the RSEQ women's indoor soccer league. Sophomore goaltender Victoria Muccilli of Mississauga, Ont., was named to the first squad along with teammates Mélanie Desaulniers-Rioux, a sophomore defender from Lac Beauport, Que., and Meghan Bourque, a sophomore midfielder from Burlington, Ont.

McGill alumni aligns Stars en route to Clarkson Cup win

Power-play proves painful as McGill masters Moncton
